(WNY News Now) – Cambria – A tragic motor vehicle accident in Cambria has claimed the life of a Niagara Falls woman, as authorities continue their investigation into the fatal crash.
On August 25th, 2024, at approximately 3:14 p.m., a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Lower Mountain and Baer Roads in the Town of Cambria. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office has now identified the individuals involved.
The accident involved a northbound 2009 Ford pickup truck driven by 72-year-old John P. Deeter Sr. of Niagara Falls and a westbound 2009 Mercury sedan operated by 78-year-old Karen L. Dunch of Lockport. Tragically, Mary R. Ryan, a 71-year-old backseat passenger in the Ford pickup, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Several other passengers in both vehicles suffered injuries and are currently recovering. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is actively investigating the circumstances that led to this fatal collision.
