(WNY News Now) – Buffalo – A Buffalo man faces serious charges after allegedly kidnapping two victims, robbing others, and attempting murder during a chaotic crime spree that ended in gunfire and an arrest.

Rashaan K. Mallory, 29, of Buffalo, was arraigned on multiple violent felony charges following a Sunday morning crime spree that left one man injured and several others victimized. Mallory faces a long list of charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and robbery, after allegedly abducting two victims and robbing two more in separate incidents on September 15, 2024.
According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane, the crime spree began at approximately 11 a.m. on Moselle Street, where Mallory, armed with an illegal firearm, allegedly forced a male and female victim into a vehicle. He then stole the woman’s cell phone, preventing her from seeking help.
The situation escalated when Mallory allegedly drove the victims to Emerson Park, where a youth football game was taking place. There, in the parking lot on Koons Avenue, he is accused of robbing two additional victims, stealing a second woman’s phone, and attempting to steal jewelry from another male. During the altercation, Mallory allegedly fired several shots at the male victim, hitting the 31-year-old Rochester resident twice. The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his leg and foot.
Following the shooting, Mallory attempted to flee with the first female victim still in the vehicle. Responding Buffalo Police officers pursued Mallory, who eventually crashed into a street sign at Koons Avenue and Sycamore Street after trying to escape. Mallory was taken into custody, and a loaded handgun was recovered.
Mallory has been charged with the following:
- Attempted Murder in the Second Degree
- Kidnapping in the Second Degree
- Assault in the First Degree
- Three counts of Robbery in the First Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon (Second, Third Degrees, and on School Grounds)
- Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree
- Menacing in the Second Degree
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree
Mallory remains in custody without bail and is scheduled for a felony hearing on September 20, 2024. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Timothy J. Garvin of the Major Crimes Bureau.
As the investigation continues, Acting DA Keane commended the Buffalo Police Department for their swift response and professionalism. Mallory, like all individuals accused of a crime, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
