(WNY News Now) – Albany County – This October, immerse yourself in the vibrant world of oak trees at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, where nature lovers of all ages can explore the vital role these majestic trees play in our ecosystem.
Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, located at 56 Game Farm Road in Delmar, Albany County, is celebrating “Oaktober” throughout the month with an array of programs and exhibits dedicated to oak trees. Visitors can participate in guided programs or explore the scenic trails independently, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
The grounds at Five Rivers are open daily from sunrise to sunset, providing ample opportunity to enjoy the stunning autumn foliage and the ecological significance of oak trees. The visitor center operates Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on state holidays. Public restrooms are accessible at the Guided School Program building from 8 a.m. to sunset.
