(WNY News Now) – ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester woman with a history of breaching airport security is facing new federal charges after allegedly entering a restricted area at Rochester Airport once more.

Takesha Rogers, 39, was arrested and charged with willfully entering an airport zone in violation of security regulations, a federal offense carrying a maximum penalty of one year in prison. This marks her third documented incident of breaching airport security.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire stated that Rogers had previously admitted to violating airport security requirements in May 2022 after scaling a fence and entering the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) on four occasions. She served time and was placed on supervised release. However, in April 2023, she attempted another breach, resulting in the revocation of her supervised release and a one-year prison sentence. She was released in July 2024.

On November 27, 2024, just after 11:30 p.m., Rogers again breached airport security, entering a secured AOA. A Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted her running toward a moving aircraft taxiing to the runway. Rogers was apprehended without incident and deemed a Mental Hygiene Arrest, subsequently transferred to Rochester General Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Rogers appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson and remains in custody.

This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
