(WNY News Now) – A reported altercation on Jamestown’s North Side led to the arrest of a Falconer resident accused of a violent home invasion and assault.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On the evening of December 13, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to an incident on the city’s North Side. The call stemmed from reports of an altercation at a residential property.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers detained 45-year-old Jessica Diaz-Hernandez, a resident of Falconer, as she was seen walking away from the residence in question. Further investigation revealed that Diaz-Hernandez had forcibly entered an occupied home and began stealing the victim’s belongings.
When confronted by the resident, Diaz-Hernandez allegedly charged at the victim with a knife, resulting in minor injuries. Officers also discovered she had multiple warrants from other agencies.
Diaz-Hernandez was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. She faces several felony and misdemeanor charges, including:
- Burglary in the First Degree
- Robbery in the First Degree
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Menacing in the Second Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
- Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
