(WNY News Now) – A Niagara Falls resident faces multiple felony charges after a focused investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force.

LOCKPORT, NY — On December 3, 2024, a months-long investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force led to the arrest of 41-year-old Jerome Wingfield of Niagara Falls. The arrest occurred at a residence located on Niagara Street Extension in the Town of Lockport.

Sheriff Michael Filicetti announced that Wingfield has been charged with:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the third degree

Both charges are classified as felonies under New York State law.

Wingfield was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Niagara County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
