(WNY News Now) – Deputies Uncover Drug Paraphernalia and Narcotics Residue During Traffic Stop

On December 19, 2024, around 12:30 a.m., deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Katelyn L. Brown of Eldred, Pennsylvania, following a traffic stop on Wayne Street near North 9th Street in Olean, New York.

The investigation uncovered multiple pipes commonly used for inhaling narcotics and baggies with narcotic residue, both on Brown’s person and inside her vehicle. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics K9, Nichols, assisted in the investigation.

Brown faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the City of Olean Local Criminal Court on January 7, 2025.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
