(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident faces charges after allegedly violating a Stay Away Order of Protection, marking another criminal contempt case on record.

On Saturday, January 11, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Jamestown Police Department officers responded to a westside residence in Jamestown following a report of an Order of Protection violation in progress.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Adrian M. Melo-Estrada inside the residence with a female victim who had an active Stay Away Order of Protection against him.

Police acted promptly, taking Melo-Estrada into custody without incident. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree due to prior convictions for similar offenses.

Melo-Estrada was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
