(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY — Devin M. Ford, 24, of Buffalo, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault charges in connection with a fatal crash that claimed two lives and left two others seriously injured. The plea comes before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek in Erie County, where Ford was held responsible for the deadly incident that occurred in the early hours of March 21, 2024.

Ford admitted to two counts of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, one count of Assault in the Second Degree, and one count of Assault in the Third Degree. The charges stem from a reckless crash that occurred on Humboldt Parkway at approximately 12:15 a.m. Ford’s high-speed driving, coupled with the failure to activate his headlights, led to a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Main Street.

The impact of the crash resulted in the deaths of 27-year-old Nasir Musazada, a rideshare driver, and his 26-year-old passenger, Morgan Ehrenbeit, both pronounced dead at ECMC. Two additional passengers from the other vehicle, both males aged 31 from Ohio, were also injured in the crash. One sustained serious injuries and is undergoing long-term rehabilitation, while the other suffered spinal and rib injuries but was later released after treatment.

Ford, the sole occupant of his vehicle, attempted to flee the scene, climbing out of the car through the front passenger door before being arrested. He was taken to ECMC for evaluation before being held without bail.

The defendant’s guilty plea to the highest remaining charges followed the dismissal of three other counts by the judge. Ford faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane praised the investigative efforts of the Buffalo Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit.

Chief Patrick B. Shanahan, Chief Paul J. Glascott, and Assistant District Attorney Christine O. Murray, of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau, handled the prosecution of the case.
