(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown couple was arrested Friday afternoon following a domestic dispute that turned physical in the presence of their children, according to local authorities.

Police responded to an Eastside address at approximately 3:32 p.m. on January 31 after receiving reports of an ongoing domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers found Pedro J. Cruz, 41, outside the residence with visible facial injuries. His wife, Glory B. Cruz, 35, was also on the scene, reportedly yelling as officers approached.

Investigators determined that the couple had been engaged in a verbal argument for about 30 minutes before it escalated into physical violence. Police say Glory Cruz struck Pedro Cruz, causing injuries to his face, and tore his sweatshirt during the altercation. In response, Pedro Cruz allegedly broke Glory Cruz’s glasses, violating an active order of protection.

Three juvenile children were present during the altercation but were not physically harmed, authorities confirmed.

Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident. Pedro Cruz faces charges including three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. Glory Cruz has been charged with three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, and Assault in the 3rd Degree.

Both suspects are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
