(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Jamestown man will spend over a decade in federal prison for his role in a large-scale drug conspiracy.

Roberto Morales Sanchez, 55, was sentenced to 156 months in prison after being convicted of conspiring to distribute over one kilogram of heroin and 400 grams of fentanyl, according to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. handed down the sentence.

Prosecutors said Sanchez bought and sold heroin and fentanyl for profit, supplying co-conspirators Ryan Bloom and Rachelle Allison with drugs for distribution. Bloom and Allison operated a drug-trafficking operation from a Fairview Avenue residence, where they also ran a needle exchange program. Sanchez used his Willis Street residence for drug activities and kept a revolver for protection.

On February 26, 2021, Sanchez confronted an individual at his home, accusing them of stealing 20 grams of heroin. He loaded his revolver in front of the individual, who managed to escape. Shortly after, Jamestown Police executed search warrants at Sanchez’s residence and vehicle, seizing a loaded revolver, ammunition, and approximately $24,520 in cash.

Bloom was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison, while Allison is awaiting sentencing.

The investigation was led by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.
