(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several counties in Western New York, effective from 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, until 1 a.m. Sunday, February 16.
Weather Conditions and Expected Impact
Residents in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany Counties should prepare for mixed precipitation, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Forecasts predict 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, with ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch.
Road conditions are expected to become hazardous due to slippery surfaces and reduced visibility. Officials advise drivers to slow down, maintain safe distances, and use extra caution when traveling.

The NWS urges residents to stay updated on changing conditions and report snow and ice accumulations through the official NWS website or social media. Those traveling during this period should allow extra time and be prepared for difficult driving conditions.
