(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of a Sinclairville woman for drug possession on Saturday night.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, on March 22 at approximately 8:12 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 8:12 p.m. near Cherry Street and West 7th Street. During the investigation, officers determined that Sally A. Johnson, 58, was in possession of a quantity of Hydrocodone, a controlled substance.

Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Following booking, she was released on an appearance ticket in accordance with New York’s bail reform laws. She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
