(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop in the City of Olean led to the arrest of a Wellsville man early Saturday morning on multiple vehicle violations and an outstanding warrant.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Alec W. Kessler, 28, on South 7th Street at approximately 12:32 a.m. on March 22, 2025, for multiple traffic infractions. During the stop, authorities discovered Kessler was driving with a suspended license, accumulating 13 suspensions on five different dates.
Further investigation revealed an active bench warrant for Kessler from the Wellsville Police Department. Deputies took him into custody and transported him to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Olean Substation for processing. Kessler was charged with:
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (1st Degree)
- Uninspected Motor Vehicle
- No/Inadequate Exhaust
After being issued three uniform traffic tickets, Kessler was transported to Belmont and turned over to Wellsville police for the outstanding warrant. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
