(WNY News Now) – SALAMANCA, NY – A 34-year-old Salamanca resident was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon after authorities identified him as having outstanding felony bench warrants.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Alex C. Hayes was observed walking on Broad Street in Salamanca at approximately 4:23 p.m. on April 2. Deputies took Hayes into custody without incident after confirming he had two active felony bench warrants issued by Cattaraugus County Criminal Court.
Following his arrest, Hayes was transported directly to the Cattaraugus County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
