(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY — An Ashville resident, 18-year-old Andre M. Guzda, was arrested by the Jamestown Police Department on an active arrest warrant at 5:38 PM on April 12, 2025. While in custody at the city jail, Guzda was found to be in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, leading to additional drug charges.
Guzda, who was initially brought to the jail due to the arrest warrant, now faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. The discovery of the illegal substances was made while Guzda was being processed at the facility.
Following his arraignment, Guzda was released on his own recognizance, with a court appearance scheduled at Jamestown City Court on a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
