(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man faces multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, following a traffic stop on April 14, 2025, where he resisted arrest and caused injury to an officer.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On April 14, 2025, at approximately 6:15 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon initiated a traffic stop in the area of Lakeview Avenue and Crossman Street after observing 35-year-old Marcus A. Mcaffee operating a vehicle. Law enforcement officers were aware that Mcaffee’s driving privileges were suspended in New York State.
Upon making contact with Mcaffee, officers ordered him to step out of the vehicle. Mcaffee refused to comply with multiple verbal commands. After informing him that he was under arrest, officers were forced to physically remove Mcaffee from the vehicle.
Once outside, Mcaffee resisted arrest by physically struggling with officers. During the altercation, Mcaffee bit an officer on the hand, resulting in a physical injury. Despite the struggle, the officers were able to subdue Mcaffee and take him into custody.
Mcaffee was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree (felony), Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree. He also received several Uniform Traffic Tickets (UTTs) for various traffic violations.
Following his arrest, Mcaffee was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment. He is set to appear before the Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
