(WNY News Now) – A Ripley resident was charged with multiple vehicle violations following an early-morning traffic stop in Salamanca.
SALAMANCA, NY — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that 32-year-old Johnathan M. Ballew of Ripley, NY, was arrested on April 14, 2025, following a traffic stop on Broad Street in the City of Salamanca.
According to authorities, the stop occurred around 2:00 a.m. after deputies observed multiple vehicle and traffic infractions. During the stop, deputies discovered Ballew was operating the vehicle with 17 total driver’s license suspensions across seven different dates, including 16 scoffs.
Following the investigation, Ballew was taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, Operating an Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Inadequate or No Muffler.
Ballew was released on an appearance ticket and multiple uniform traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in the City of Salamanca Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
