(WNY News Now) – Eligible delivery workers have until July 15, 2025, to file claims for unpaid tips recovered in a $4 million settlement with Drizly.

NEW YORK — New York Attorney General Letitia James is encouraging delivery workers who fulfilled orders through liquor stores using the Drizly platform to file claims to receive a share of a $4 million settlement. The deadline to submit claims is July 15, 2025.

The settlement, announced in December 2024, resolved an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) which revealed that Drizly, owned by Uber, misled customers into believing their tips were going directly to delivery workers. Instead, the tips were routed to store owners, who were not always distributing them to workers as intended.

“Delivery workers are essential to our communities and deserve to be compensated fairly,” said Attorney General James. “I was proud to secure this settlement to ensure that those who were shortchanged by Drizly’s practices would receive the tips they rightfully earned. I urge all eligible workers to file their claims and get the money that they are owed.”

The funds will be distributed to individuals who completed deliveries for liquor stores using Drizly between January 1, 2018, and August 31, 2023. An outside firm, Simpluris, has been appointed to manage the claims process.

Eligible individuals can submit claims by visiting the official settlement website at www.NYDrizlySettlement.com. Notices to qualifying workers began going out on April 7, 2025, via mail, email, and text. Those who believe they qualify but have not received a notification are still encouraged to file a claim.

Attorney General James also warned of potential scams. She emphasized that no third-party assistance is necessary to file a claim and urged workers to avoid sharing personal or financial details with unknown individuals.
