(WNY News Now) – A six-month narcotics investigation in Dunkirk concluded with the arrest of a local man and the seizure of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and over $5,000 in cash.
DUNKIRK, N.Y. — On Friday, May 30, 2025, a coordinated law enforcement operation ended a months-long drug investigation with the execution of a search warrant at 431 Columbus Street, upper apartment, in the City of Dunkirk.
Narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and Jamestown Police Department conducted the operation. The Dunkirk Police Special Response Team (SRT) executed the entry.
As officers approached the residence, 37-year-old Larry Brooks of Dunkirk was seen fleeing the scene. He was quickly apprehended a short distance away and found to be in possession of both crack and powder cocaine, along with more than $5,000 in U.S. currency.

A search of the apartment resulted in the seizure of 12.68 grams of cocaine, 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, and packaging materials commonly used for drug distribution. Authorities also recovered an additional amount of U.S. currency.
Brooks was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the First Degree. He was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and arraigned in Dunkirk City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
