(WNY News Now) – An unwanted guest call at a local hotel led to drug-related charges for a Jamestown man.
ELLICOTT, NY – The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged 27-year-old Dale R. Linkous of Jamestown following an investigation into a reported unwanted person at the Quality Inn on May 22, 2025.
Officers responded to the hotel around 2:08 p.m. after it was alleged that Linkous had overstayed his visit. During the encounter, police reportedly discovered a white powdery substance believed to be narcotics, along with drug paraphernalia.
As a result, Linkous was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.
He was processed at the Ellicott Police Department and later released with an appearance ticket. Linkous is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
