(WNY News Now) – Authorities have confirmed the recovery of the body of a missing kayaker reported last week near Barcelona Harbor in Westfield, New York.
On June 10, 2025, at approximately 6:51 PM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing kayaker in the Barcelona Harbor area. The missing individual was identified as Casey Q. Norene, a 23-year-old resident of Westfield.
A search operation was launched following the report. On June 14, 2025, at about 10:06 AM, the body of a deceased person was discovered along the shore of Lake Erie near Barcelona Harbor. The individual was confirmed to be Casey Q. Norene.
