Traffic stop leads to arrest of Little Valley man wanted by U.S. Marshals for drug-related probation violation.

(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop early Monday morning resulted in the arrest of a Little Valley man wanted on a federal warrant, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 4:02 a.m. on June 16, 2025, deputies stopped a vehicle on North Union Street in the City of Olean for violations of New York State vehicle and traffic laws. During the stop, authorities identified the driver as 33-year-old Austin W. Woodarek of Little Valley.

A check revealed that Woodarek had an active warrant issued by the United States Marshals Service for a probation violation related to dangerous drug charges. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Sheriff’s Office substation in Olean for processing.

Following processing, Woodarek was brought before the Town of Little Valley Court for arraignment. He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail pending extradition proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
