Bryan Hathaway, 31, was arrested after allegedly stealing from the Allegany Walmart on June 28.

(WNY News Now) – ALLEGANY, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Portville man with petit larceny following a reported theft at Walmart in the Town of Allegany.

According to the arrest blotter, deputies responded to the store on June 28, 2025, at approximately 7:38 p.m. for a complaint of larceny. Following an on-site investigation, 31-year-old Bryan Hathaway was taken into custody without incident.

Hathaway was processed at the scene and later released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Allegany Court at a future date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
