Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Driver for Alleged DWI and Vehicle Equipment Violation

(WNY News Now) – HANOVER, N.Y. — A 25-year-old Angola woman is facing charges after being stopped by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies for a vehicle equipment violation early Friday morning.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop at approximately 3:01 a.m. on July 4, 2025, on Route 20 near Old Main Road in the Town of Hanover. The driver, identified as Erica C. Holscher, was found to be operating the vehicle while allegedly intoxicated.

Holscher was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and No/Inadequate Plate Lamps, a violation related to vehicle lighting requirements. She was later released and is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court at a future date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
