Deputies say suspect displayed dangerous instrument during altercation
(WNY News Now) – HANOVER, NY – A 36-year-old woman was arrested late Tuesday night following an alleged altercation at a residence in the Town of Hanover, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 10:56 p.m. on July 15, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at an Alleghany Road address. Upon investigation, authorities allege that Jaralyn E. Majak displayed a dangerous instrument in a threatening manner, causing another individual to fear serious physical injury or death.
Majak was taken into custody at the scene and charged with Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor. She was subsequently transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment through the Centralized Arraignment Program (CAP). As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
