(WNY News Now) – Authorities seized over a kilo of cocaine, firearms, and drug paraphernalia during a coordinated narcotics investigation in the Town of Gerry.
GERRY, NY — On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, a long-term narcotics investigation led to the arrest of 32-year-old Chaze A. Johnson of Gerry, following the execution of a search warrant at 1842 Hanson Road.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and Dunkirk Police Department carried out the warrant with the assistance of the Sheriff’s SWAT Team. Johnson was located inside the residence at the time of entry.

Investigators seized approximately 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, 7.6 pounds of cannabis, 10.9 grams of MDMA, multiple digital scales, packaging materials for drug distribution, three loaded semi-automatic pistols, two high-capacity pistol magazines, a .22 caliber rifle, and $11,278 in U.S. currency.
Johnson faces multiple felony charges including:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree
- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree
- Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
