(WNY News Now) – An 18-year-old Jamestown resident was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after fleeing from police investigating suspicious activity near Samuel G. Love Elementary School.
JAMESTOWN, NY – On August 5, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon were patrolling the east side of the city when they observed a male acting suspiciously on Spring Street near Samuel G. Love Elementary School.
According to police, the individual, later identified as 18-year-old Brayden L. Pratt of Jamestown, was seen looking into the windows of parked vehicles. Officers initiated a street check and attempted to make contact with Pratt. Upon approach, he reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle, prompting a brief foot pursuit.
Pratt was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He was charged with resisting arrest and also received a traffic citation in connection with the incident.
He was processed and later released with an appearance ticket. Pratt is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
