(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. — A 41-year-old Olean man was taken into custody early Monday morning on an out-of-state warrant for alleged terroristic threats, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
On August 11, 2025, at approximately 2:42 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on North 19th Street in the City of Olean. During the stop, authorities identified the driver as Vontey L. Johnson and discovered an active bench warrant issued by the Washington County Probation Office in Pennsylvania. The warrant stemmed from charges of terroristic threats.
Johnson was transported to the Town of Little Valley Court for arraignment, where a judge ordered him held at the Cattaraugus County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
