(WNY News Now) – WESTFIELD, N.Y. – A Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Westfield man early Saturday morning after a traffic stop led to charges of driving while intoxicated.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle with a loud exhaust on Route 20 in the Town of Westfield at approximately 1:40 a.m. on September 6, 2025. The driver was identified as 33-year-old Steven G. Trippy of Westfield.
During the investigation, deputies determined that Trippy was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released with appearance tickets.
Trippy is charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI Per Se, and loud exhaust. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Westfield Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
