(WNY News Now) – Deputies say a Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges after a late-night traffic stop in Chautauqua County.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle in the Town of French Creek shortly after 12:27 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Carson T. Chesley of Wattsburg, Pennsylvania, was found to have allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and failed to use a turn signal.

Further investigation determined Chesley was operating without a valid license and was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Deputies charged him with failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to use a turn signal, unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated (DWI), and DWI per se.

Chesley was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was later released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of French Creek Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
