(WNY News Now) – SHERMAN, N.Y. — A Sherman man was arrested late Saturday night after a traffic stop led to drunk driving charges, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on Sherman Stedman Road around 11:14 p.m. on October 4, 2025. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Derek R. Davis of Sherman, was reportedly found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated following an on-scene investigation.
Davis was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, and Speed in Zone. He was later released to appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
