(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY — Three Jamestown residents were arrested in separate shoplifting incidents Thursday afternoon at the Tops Market on Washington Street, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on October 23, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at the grocery store located at 2000 Washington Street.
Through investigation, officers determined that a store employee, Jennifer L. Fordham, 46, had stolen merchandise from the business. Fordham was taken into custody and charged with Petit Larceny. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and later released with an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court.
While officers were still on the scene handling that investigation, store employees alerted them to a second theft in progress involving two additional suspects.
Officers detained Amber P. Coy, 24, while Michael C. Hillman, 38, fled the store on foot. Hillman was located shortly afterward at a nearby location, where officers took him into custody following a brief struggle.
Police said Coy was found to have an active bench warrant through Jamestown City Court. Further investigation revealed that Coy was the protected party in an active Stay-Away Order of Protection against Hillman, who also had an active warrant through the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Hillman was charged with Petit Larceny, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Criminal Contempt, while Coy was charged with Petit Larceny. Both were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
