Police: Jamestown Man Accused of Violating Stay-Away Order
(WNY News Now) – The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged a Jamestown man with Criminal Contempt in the second degree following an alleged violation of an active order of protection.
According to a police press release, officers responded to a residence in Celoron on November 29, 2025, after receiving information that 32-year-old Akeem T. Sims was inside a home where a victim had a complete stay-away order of protection against him. Upon arrival, officers located Sims and took him into custody without incident.
Sims was charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
