(WNY News Now) – A 57-year-old Georgetown man has been charged with petit larceny following a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office investigation into alleged shoplifting incidents at a Ripley business.

RIPLEY, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a business on Shortman Road in the Town of Ripley on December 9, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m. for a past shoplifting complaint.

Following an investigation, authorities allege that Daryl D. Dunagan, 57, of Georgetown, New York, took merchandise and consumable goods from the business on multiple occasions.

As a result of the investigation, Dunagan was issued an appearance ticket on December 18 charging him with petit larceny. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ripley Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
