Investigators identified Denson as a suspect during the course of the investigation. Authorities later determined that Denson was already incarcerated at a New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facility. He was subsequently interviewed by investigators while in state custody.

Following the investigation, Denson was charged with Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class A-II felony; Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class B felony; and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D felony.

On December 16, 2025, Denson was transported back to Chautauqua County by NYS DOCCS and arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court. He remains in DOCCS custody and is expected to answer to the new charges in Chautauqua County Supreme Court at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the allegations remain under judicial review and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
