(WNY News Now) – A 44-year-old Pomfret man was arrested Thursday night after a traffic stop on Route 20 led deputies to determine he was driving while intoxicated.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred at approximately 10:36 p.m. on January 9, 2026, on Route 20 in the Town of Pomfret.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and identified the operator as Brian P. Wojcinski, 44, of Pomfret, New York. Following an investigation at the scene, deputies determined that Wojcinski was driving while intoxicated.
Wojcinski was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and no or inadequate plate lamps.
He was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in Pomfret Town Court at a later date. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
