(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon following a domestic dispute investigation on the city’s south side, according to police.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a report of an unwanted person at approximately 4:22 p.m. on March 29. Upon arrival and investigation, police determined that 34-year-old Mackenzie D. Kelley, a Jamestown resident, was in violation of an active stay-away order of protection.

Authorities allege that Kelley had contact with the protected individual, which constitutes a violation of the court-issued order. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Kelley has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
