(WNY News Now) – An Allegany resident was arrested April 3 following an investigation into a reported domestic incident, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office report that Tyler J. Kinney, 36, of Allegany, New York, was taken into custody on April 3, 2026, at approximately 2:07 p.m.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a past domestic-related incident. Following the investigation, Kinney was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.

Authorities processed Kinney at the Sheriff’s Office substation in Olean before he was arraigned in Allegany Town Court. After arraignment, he was released on his own recognizance.

Kinney is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
