(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is facing charges after an alleged assault in the Town of Ellicott that resulted in a victim being transported for medical treatment.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a reported assault on April 3, 2026, at approximately 7:04 p.m. The investigation determined that Shaun P. Clutter, 38, of Jamestown, was involved in a verbal altercation with another individual.

Police allege that during the dispute, Clutter struck the victim in the nose, causing injury. He then left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Clutter was later located in Jamestown and taken into custody without further incident. He has been charged with Assault in the Third Degree.

Emergency responders from the Falconer Fire Department treated the victim at the scene before the individual was transported to UPMC for additional medical care. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed.

Clutter was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to respond to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
