(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 20-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop on the city’s east side that led to charges involving an alleged violation of an order of protection.
According to police, officers from the department’s second platoon conducted a traffic stop at approximately 2:14 p.m. on April 12, 2026, after observing a vehicle commit traffic infractions.
During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, identified as Julio A. Arizmendi, was allegedly in violation of a stay-away order of protection. Authorities said two protected individuals were present inside the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Arizmendi was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
He has been charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, along with multiple traffic violations. Arizmendi is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
