(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop on the city’s south side led to the arrest of a Jamestown man wanted on multiple warrants out of state, police said.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon conducted a traffic stop at approximately 5:13 p.m. on April 10, 2026, near the intersection of Charles Street and Cowden Place after observing a vehicle with an equipment violation.

During the investigation, officers identified the driver as 32-year-old Daniel D. Pokrajac, a Jamestown resident. Authorities determined that Pokrajac had multiple active felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants issued in the state of Florida.

Pokrajac was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with being a Fugitive from Justice and was also issued uniform traffic tickets in connection with the stop.

Pokrajac is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court as he awaits possible extradition to Florida. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
