(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown woman was taken into custody late Sunday night after police reported she violated an active order of protection at a north side residence.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon responded at approximately 11:30 p.m. on April 12, 2026, to a report of an unwanted person and a possible order of protection violation at a city address.
Upon arrival, officers located 35-year-old Vanessa R. Stevens inside the residence of the protected party. Following an investigation, police confirmed that Stevens was subject to an active order of protection requiring her to stay away from the individual and their home.
Stevens was arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she remained pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
