(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown resident was taken into custody Saturday evening following a reported violation of a court-issued order of protection at a southside residence, according to local police.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded to a call at approximately 5:53 p.m. on April 11 regarding a possible violation of a stay-away order of protection. Upon arrival, officers located Serena T. Ellis at the residence, where authorities say a valid order required her to remain away.

Police report that Ellis was taken into custody without incident at the scene. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.

Ellis was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
