(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop early Friday morning in the city of Jamestown, according to police.

The Jamestown Police Department reported that officers from the Third Platoon conducted a traffic stop at approximately 1:49 a.m. on May 22, 2026, near the intersection of Harrison Street and Winsor Street after observing a traffic violation.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, identified as 38-year-old Ross S. Costanzo of Jamestown, was allegedly operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Police said Costanzo was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

Costanzo was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated Per Se, and several uniform traffic ticket violations.

Following processing, Costanzo was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
