(WNY News Now) – A 31-year-old Buffalo man has been charged with allegedly possessing methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute, according to federal prosecutors.

Jamarr A. Cunningham, also known as “Grass,” 31, of Buffalo, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute 50 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine and 40 grams of fentanyl.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, the charges stem from an investigation involving the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Prosecutors allege that in November 2025, investigators conducted multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl from a person associated with Cunningham at a Palmer Street residence in Jamestown.

On Nov. 13, 2025, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence. Authorities reported seizing suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

Cunningham was reportedly at the residence when the search warrant was executed and was taken into custody on New York state charges.

Cunningham later made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer. Following a detention hearing, he was released under conditions.

If convicted, the federal charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti is prosecuting the case. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jamestown Police Department.

The criminal complaint contains allegations that have not been proven in court. Cunningham is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty.
