(WNY News Now) – A 27-year-old Jamestown man was arrested Monday after police responded to a reported domestic dispute at an Eastside residence, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to an Eastside address at about 4:38 p.m. Aug. 24, 2026, for a reported domestic dispute.

Police said officers were aware of a stay-away order of protection that identified a person at the residence as the protected party.

According to police, officers found Darin Bates, 27, of Jamestown, inside the residence. A brief struggle reportedly occurred before officers took Bates into custody.

Bates was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.

Police said Bates is charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Resisting Arrest. The case is scheduled to be handled in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are allegations, and Bates is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
