(WNY News Now) – A 49-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody after police said they observed him with a woman he was ordered to stay away from.

Jamestown Police officers on the first platoon were patrolling the city’s east side at about 9 a.m. Sept. 22 when they observed Cesar L. Soto, 49, walking with a female who was the subject of an active order of protection, according to police.

Officers said Soto was taken into custody without incident.

Soto was charged with second-degree criminal contempt in connection with the alleged order of protection violation.

He was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court, police said.

The charge is an allegation, and Soto is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
