(WNY News Now) – A Gowanda woman was issued appearance tickets following a traffic stop in the Town of Pomfret that ended with her arrest, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop around 10:42 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Town of Pomfret.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the stop ended in the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant in Fredonia. The operator was identified as 46-year-old Cherish M. Loomis of Gowanda.

Deputies said Loomis was non-compliant during the investigation and became physically resistant. She was taken into custody after a brief period, according to the report.

Loomis was issued appearance tickets for speed in zone, suspended registration, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Pomfret Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
