CHICAGO – Conagra Brands, Inc. is voluntarily recalling some Hunt’s tomato paste cans for damaged products that could lead to mold, according to a news release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Hunt’s “Tomato Paste No Salt Added” six-ounce cans are being recalled because officials believe the final product could have been damaged in a way that would create the potential for mold.
The cans named in the recall were distributed around the country and the company became aware of the issue after receiving calls from consumers.
The specific cans that are affected will have the UPC number 00-27000-38807-5 on their barcode. As well as the lot code 2105902510 on the bottom of the can.
The best by date on the item will be October 16, 2020.
No other Hunt’s products were impacted by the recall. If you have this product, you’re advised to throw it away or return them to the store where they were originally purchased.
